Textbooks are ordered based on faculty requisitions.
Each course is labeled with a shelf tag listing the required and recommended texts. We suggest that you bring your class schedule with you when you come to purchase your texts to ensure your buy for the correct class and section.
The College Bookstore works hard to acquire as many ‘used’ books as possible and are available at 25% off the new price.
Textbook rentals are also available for selected titles. Rentals are about 35- 55% of the retail price and are for one semester only. Please ask a textbook staff person for more information regarding this program.
On occasion we sell out of a title-we are happy to place a ‘rush’ reorder upon request. Please ask a staff member if you are unable to find a title you need.
Due to space constraints, the process of returning textbook overstock starts after the mid-term break. Make sure you have made all your required purchases by that time or speak to a staff person to make other arrangements.
Texts purchased for the current semester may be returned up to Friday of the first week of class. Texts purchased after that are returnable only if you drop the class. Your itemized receipt is required for all returns and texts must be in the same condition that they were purchased. Texts purchase after the add/drop period are non-returnable. All returns are for store credit only.
Many courses offer ‘shrink-wrapped’ text or “bundles” which consist of several pieces and are labeled with a ‘non-returnable if opened’ sticker. These bundles cannot be returned if they have been opened.
New texts that have been written in, hi-lighted, have bent covers or other damage cannot be returned.
The College bookstore buys back textbooks on a daily basis and at the end of each semester. The prices vary depending on if the title is purchased for a wholesaler or by the bookstore for the upcoming semester.
